Undying – A being who cannot die by natural means, however they can be killed
Immortal – A being who is unable to die
Angel /ˈānjəl/
A heavenly species with the body of a human and pure white wings of a dove protruding from their back. They can be either undying or immortal, it differs from angel to angel. Despite the amount of praise they get from many religions, angels aren’t as all powerful as they may seem. Angels have very limited magic. Granted, their magic is extremely powerful but they can only use a handful of spells. Their main ability is to grant blessings which can help others in numerous ways. They obtain their knowledge from the heavens core (a collection of all the knowledge and experiences of past angels). An angel must prove oneself and distinguish themself from other angels in order to be granted connection to the heavens core.
Similar to demons, they can make deals others to make their life better, grant wishes etc. These deals aren’t exactly common knowledge, but they aren’t super hidden either. They don’t stoop as low as demons, but the more specific the wish the better since they always choose the easiest option that doesn’t cause much chaos. Compared to demons, they tend to ask for less in return for their services but tend to be less available.
Antherial /ænθiriəl/
Anthropomorphic people. They have the body of a person with animal limbs. They can’t normally transform into the animal they are in part. However, there is a branch of antherials living in Kalten which can transform.
Baba Yaga Ба́ба-Яга́
A legendary witch who flies around in a mortar, wields a pestle, and lives/travels in a chicken-legged hut. Baba Yaga is a immortal. There is only one Baba Yaga in the entire universe
Basilisk /ˈbasəˌlisk/ /ˈbazəˌlisk/
A giant serpent with the ability to turn living things into stone once they make eye contact.
Bicorn /ˈbaɪ kɔrn /
Similar to a unicorn, a bicorn is an elusive magical horse with a two horns adorning their head. They are undying beings. Bicorns are commonly hunted for their horns and blood. Their blood is said to be as deadly as cyanide after consuming a certain amount. They are usually used in evil (or “evil”) rituals or ground up into power to be used in witches potions. They generally stay away from every species as it’s not only humans that may hunt them. Rarely a bicorn will stick around a specific person and they can only be tamed by an impure person.
Centaur /ˈsentôr/
A creature with the body of a human and the lower body of a horse.
Changeling /ˈCHānjliNG/
A fae child left in place of a human child that the fae have stolen. This is seen as an act of evil to the fae so these fae that switch the children are considered evil fae. Known for being able to shape shift into people they’ve seen before
Chimera /kīˈmirə/ /kəˈmirə/
A creature with the body of a lion, a second head of a goat and a snake as its tail. Some chimera can breathe fire while others can’t.
Councillor /ˈkouns(ə)lər/
A creature who has stolen the power of a god. They are undying beings and together are called The Council. There are currently 14 Councillors alive. Most of them are just below the power level of gods. There are a few that are just as powerful, and even fewer that are more powerful than the average god. The majority of Councillors are actually born in Anthrokos. Councillors are destined, meaning that the moment they are born they are given the potential to become a Councillor. Not all those who are destined become Councillors, some even never know they had the potential to become one.When a Councillor steals the power of a god, the god becomes an ex deo and are forced to serve the Councillor for the rest of eternity.
Some people don’t understand why Councillors are worshipped. These people think that Councillors are evil becuase they stole the powers of a genuine god.
Demon /ˈdēmən/
A humanoid creature most commonly associated with the devil. Demons come in many different forms. Some have large horns protruding from their head, others may have wing and/or a tail. Maybe even all three or none of them. They can be either undying or immortal, it differs from demon to demon. Cross breeding between a magic bearing demon and a non-magic demon is near impossible and will most likely end in a miscarriage or stillbirth. Most species can make deals others, but not all. They tend to ask fore more in return compared to angels but are typically more available.
Incubus /ˈiNGkyəbəs/
A seductive male demon (the male version of a succubus).
Lamia /ˈlāmēə/
A beautiful, hald-snake, child-eating demon. Lamia are only female.
Man-eating Demon
Demons who eat other beings to gain power. Their favourite tends to be humans and illusionists. This species of demon has the most physical strength out of all. They also have the ability to shape shift but it can cost a lot of energy.
Succubus /ˈsəkyəbəs/
A seductive female demon (the female version of an incubus).
Standard Demon
A demon who looks like a normal person. Only really distinguishable as a demon by their slit eyes. Though they don’t technically need to, they eats souls and gain power the more they eat.
Styx Demon /stiks/
A horned demon with magic abilities. Styx demons have only one horn that can be located anywhere on the top of their head or forehead. There are rare cases of two horned styx demons who posses three times the amount of magic compared to others. As a sort of trade off for having magic, they are physically weaker than standard demons. Styx demons can eat normal food, however they must eat souls every so often in order to maintain their health.
Witch Demon
A magic bearing demon. They have much more magic than a Styx demon (even two horned Styx demons) but also is the physically weakest species of demons. Use magic circles to use magic.
Dragon /ˈdraɡən/
A giant lizard with wings. Some can breathe fire, others can control other element. There are many different kinds of species of dragons. Some are undying but not all, it differs from dragon to dragon. Known for being extremely aggressive to most species. Most dragons usually keep to themselves. They stay cooped up in their cave full of treasure. Although some species are innately more violent and actively more destructive than others.
Amphithere
The amphiptere has the body of a serpent. A pair of wings behind its neck, where forelimbs might be found on a quadruped, but the amphiptere possess no hind limbs. Most amphiptere have feathered wings, but some have wings like those of a bat
Cockatrice
Cockatrices have the head and legs of a chicken, body of of a wyvern, a tail twice their size and wings like that of a bats. They have scales on the face and neck, feathers on the body, leathery wings and a crest of long spines. They are 1 to 2 feet high and 3 feet long. Due to its venom and appetite the Cockatrice is the most dangerous psuedo-dragon. They attack with their poisonous breath, although their beak can inflict a deadly wound as it contains rows of sharp teeth
Dragon Turtle/Tortoise
The body of a turtle with a dragon’s head; symbolizing courage, determination, fertility, longevity, power, success, and support.
Drake
The drake is a dragon with four limbs, much like a lizard, although usually far larger in size than the average lizard. These particular creatures have low-slung bodies, much like crocodiles and alligators, with their bellies lying across the ground.
Fae
Most fairy dragons are depicted with four limbs and twin wings, like Western Dragons. They have insect-style wings, like that of a moth or butterfly, or in some cases, a dragonfly. Because of the size of their wings, fairy dragons are slender and light. Some only contain hind limbs.
Hydra
A dragon-like water serpent with fatally venomous breathe, blood and fangs. Hydras can take on the initial traits and characteristics of any other Dragon Type or Dragon Species. Hydra is a separate Dragon Type because of the additional physical characteristic, the most common of which is multiple heads. Hydra can have anywhere between 5 and 100 heads. Some Hydras present with additional tails, arms, or wings.
Qilin/Kirin
Qilin generally have oriental dragon-like features. Most notably their heads, eyes with thick eyelashes, manes that always flow upward and beards. The body is fully or partially scaled and often shaped like an ox, deer, or horse with cloven hooves. Can be a variety of different colours. Most common to see qilin with antlers, however some do not possess antlers.
Lindwurm
A Lindwurm is a gigantic serpent with the head of a horse and a mane down the neck part of its body. Lindwurms possess two forelegs below the neck with the claws of an eagle. Their heads are particularly large, with red eyes that burn like coals. A lindwurm’s mouth is large enough to swallow a person whole.
Leviathan
A Leviathan is a serpent like dragon that roams the seas or skies.
Sea Leviathan
Sea leviathans can have serpentine bodies without limbs that end with a long, steering tail, there are just as many reports of sea serpents with webbed limbs, fins, or even wing-like appendages, likely used for steering in the water. Some sea serpents have a mane down their necks, similar to a horse; others have heads shaped like those of a horse and the mane presented resembles seaweed. They have large eyes, usually blue or pewter in color. Some sea leviathans have a single horn, shaped like a marlinspike.
Lung Dragon
Lung dragons are also know as Korean, Japanese or Chinese dragons. The main differences between the different Lung Dragons species are the number of toes. They may be born in two ways: from a lung dragon egg or from a koi jumping over the dragon gate.
Japanese Dragon/Japanese Ryu (日本語龍)
Mane and wattles are shorter than those of the Chinese Lung and the distance between their legs is longer. Colouration is blue, red, green or gold with the females having feathered tails. They have three toes. They create ink out of substance from between their legs, use their tails as a brush, and write on shed belly skin. They love volcanic hot springs. Ryu can breathe fire but more commonly impale their prey.
Korean Dragon/Korean Yong (한국 용)
They are narrower and longer than the Chinese Lung but with a similar body shape. They are coloured yellow or gold with a white mane and whiskers. They have larger scales than other species and fewer spines. Their long feelers are used to find prey underwater. They have four toes. Korean dragons hypnotize creatures, a tactic they employ to catch prey before constricting them, like a python.
Occidental Dragon/Western Dragon
Western Dragons have four thick, powerful legs and claws with the talons of an eagle. They have scales covering its body, similar to those of a crocodile, with a barbed, serpentine tail. Their wings are like those of a bat. The heads of Western Dragons are large and wedge-shaped like that of a crocodile or monitor lizard with a crest, horns, or antlers. Have four legs and a pair of wings, huge fangs and possess a noxious poison, and are known to exhale deadly fumes or even fire.
Quetzalcoatl
Very similar to the amphithere, the quetzalcoatl has the body of a serpent, a pair of wings behind its neck and possess no hind limbs. The only difference is that a quetzalcoatl tends to be thinner and always feathered.
Wyrm
Wurms have thick, serpentine bodies with a head shaped like a horse or a crocodile. Some have horns, dangerously large fangs, and bright, wide eyes.
Wyvern
The Wyvern has the body of a serpent, the head of a dragon, the wings of a bat, and a long serpent’s tail. The two legs are sometimes that of a lizard but sometimes those of a bird. The dragon’s head is wedge-shaped like that of a crocodile.
Zilant
A Zilant is a legendary creature with the head of a dragon, the body of a bird, the legs of a chicken, the tail of a snake, the ears of a canine, red wings, sharp teeth, dark-gray feathers and scaly dark-gray skin.

A small human-shaped being that commonly dwells in the mountains.
Elf /зlf/
Beings with human-like features. Typically known for their beauty and mysterious nature. They are undying.

Fairy /ˈferē/
Human looking beings with beautiful and delicate wings. Known for blending in amongst human kind and singing in meadows full of flowers. The world of the fairies is known as the fae.
Fririe /ˈfrírī/
A fairy-like species but instead of having wings, magic symbols that can appear on the individual’s wrists or ankles. Aka, a wingless fairy with extremely strong magic. They are undying.
Known for blending in amongst humankind and bringing good luck to those around them. The markings (called signica /sɪgnɪˈkʌ/) only appear when the Fririe uses magic and they can willing transfer the markings from wrists to ankles and vice versa. The signica usually glow bright red and the individual’s eyes will change to the same red colour when using the magic. The darker the red, the more powerful the Fririe. Signica can only be used for a certain amount of time. Timing differs from Fririe to Fririe. Friries have the phrase “go full Frite” which means to release all boundaries on their magic and become 3x more powerful than normal full power (Frite Mode).
Fraedeus /ˈfreɪdīəs/ (plural=Fraexi /ˈfreɪksɑɪ/)
In very rare cases, a Fririe is born with a set of red and minty green signica. They are called Fraedeus. Fraexi are in a weird spot between undying and immortal, their undying status is stronger and are less likely to die from a wider variety of things. All rules for the red apply to these signica but they are able to be used twice the normal length (because they have two sets, each with their own limits). One set is the normal red colour, while the other is a minty green. Fraexi usually work for The Council.
Giant /ˈjīənt/
A human-like species that is prodigious in size and strength.
Goblin /ˈɡäblən/
Small, grotesque humanoids. Commonly green in colour and have an ugly appearance.
God /ɡäd/
A higher being that rules over a specific concept/force; a deity.
Demigod
Any being that is part god. Most are undying, however there are a few that live the average life span of their other species.
God Reapers /ɡäd ˈrēpər/
The only type of weapon that can kill gods are the god reapers (specially crafted and enchanted deudrop iron weapons). Normal weapons can damage them, however, no matter how many injuries they sustain, they cannot die from normal weapons alone. When God Reapers are crafted, a spirit is born along side the weapon. The spirit and weapon are one entity.
Griffin /ˈɡrifən/
A creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head, wings, and front feet of an eagle.
Grim Reaper /ɡrim ˈrēpər/
The personification of death. Tend to take on a human-like appearance. Grim reapers usually stay in the soul library overseeing the souls waiting to be reincarnated in Maeyrfae. However, grim reapers may enter the living world (both Maeyrfae and Anthrokos) in order to kill someone who has somehow cheated death, and by proxy, fate. Grim reapers can also enter the living world whenever they please, but they are generally told not to get involved with people.
Gumiho/Kumiho 구미호
A creature similar to the kitsune. They are beautiful women who often seduce boys and eat their hearts or liver. They are undying.
Harpy /ˈhärpē/
Female creatures with the limbs of a bird.

Hippocampus //
Horses of the sea with the tail of a fish. They are carefree and majestic, as well as respected and loyal steeds. They are generally passive creatures, only engaging in conflict when attacked. Even then, they choose to stun/confuse the enemy before fleeing to avoid further conflict. They typically travel in packs, like lions.
Hippogriff //
A creature with the body of a horse and the head and wings of an eagle.
Homunculus //
An artificially created being.
Illusionist //
Illusionists are “humans” with the magic to create illusions. They are the closest thing to a human in Maeyrfae. Their illusions are not physical (meaning you can’t interact with them) but they can be seen by everyone in the area.
Insa /insa/
Humans who have stayed too long in Maeyrfae and have gone crazy (called insa madness).
Kelpie /ˈkelpē/
A shape-shifting spirit residing in the waters of Scotland, Kelpies are often seen in horse form.
Kitsune 狐 (きつね)
A nine tailed fox. They have both a fox form and human form. Kitsunes are very wise beings. They are undying. Known for playing tricks on humans and occasionally other species. Most commonly red, orange, reddish-orange, or white and markings will appear on them in fox form older they are.
Lich /ˈlɪtʃ/
An undead magician or king who strives for eternal life.
Maeyrik /ˈmerik/
Terrifying beasts with magic nullifying saliva and venom. They have an appearance like a super hulky dire wolf, with the aggressiveness of a grizzly bear. The end of their tail also contains a mouth. Also commonly known as Mae Killers.
Typically found in packs like wolves/werewolves. On their own, they aren’t that huge of a threat. However, it is when they are in a pack that they are most dangerous. They are known for being able to take down even gods. When hunting in a pack, they can access a hive mind that allows them to share information with each other.
Magician /məˈjiSHən/
A being with magical powers, most commonly elemental powers. Most magicians have control over the basic elements but there are few that have “specialized” magic as well.
Known for blending in with human society, most live as a normal human but some live secluded so their work goes undisturbed. Not all magicians have a human body, some magicians are more humanoid than actual human. They need a staff to help them control their magic. They have control over their magic without a staff but it’s more unstable. Those who have “specialized” abilities do not need staffs to control those abilities. However, they do allow them even greater control over their magic. Magician staffs are made from the wood of special magical trees found near The Tree of Beginnings.
Born Magician
Born magicians are just normal. All info about born magicians is in this section. Their life spans are five times a humans life span (their average life span is around 500 years old).
Artificial Magician
People who have stolen magic from born magicians. They still have their original average life span.
Manticore /ˈman(t)iˌkôr/
A creature with the head and body of a lion, that wings of a bat and the tail of a scorpion.
Mermaid /ˈmərˌmād/
A half-human, half-fish. A human with a fish’s tail. Mermaids have the ability to change their tail into feet but only for a certain amount of time. Known for hoarding a bunch of random objects from land and singing on rocks. Commonly mistaken for sirens by humans. Much like sirens, mermaids can change their tails into legs, but they will need a powerful spell in order to do so. If they come into contact with sea water their legs will turn back into a tail. Compared to sirens, mermaids have a more fish-like tail. Though some mermaids’ tails are pretty similar to betta fish fins which can be mistaken for sirens (to those who can tell the difference between siren and mermaid tails). Because of their tail shape, mermaids tend to be faster than sirens underwater.

A humanoid bull creature.
Miriru /miriru/
A humanoid creature born from a reflection in a mirror. They are completely made of glass/mirrors. Known for playing tricks on other species. Miriru are the basis behind the idea of one’s reflection moving differently that what one does. Miriru are born when someone makes a wish or promise to themselves in the mirror. That person’s reflection becomes the miriru. They don’t exactly have a “true form” as they are born from the reflection of an already existing person. Miriru always carry around the mirror from which they were born as it is the only mirror they can use to enter the mirror world. Miriru do not have reflections because they themselves are a reflection.
Nymph /nimf/
A female nature spirit.
Pegasus /ˈpɛɡəsəs/
A winged horse just as elusive as the unicorn. They are undying. Known for finding lost creatures who are pure of heart and guiding them to their destination. Commonly pure white in colour, however some rare cases lead to pegasi being black or brown.
Peryton /pˈe͡ɪtən/ /pˈe͡rɪtən/ /pˈe͡ritən/
A cross between a deer and a bird. It is said to have the head, neck, forelegs and antlers of a stag, combined with the plumage, wings and hindquarters of a large bird, although some interpretations portray the Peryton as a deer in all but coloration and bird’s wings. They are undying.
Phoenix /ˈfēniks/ /ˈfīniks/
A ginormous fire bird that lives for centuries before obtaining new life by burning to ashes and then rebirthing from those ashes. Some consider them to be gods of the sun because of their immortal like and pyrokinetic abilities. Phoenixes are a weird exception to the immortal rules. While they are technically immortals, they can “die” but they rise from the ashes.
Phoenixes are nearly impossible to find and only a handful of sightings have been recorded. Phoenix feathers are fireproof but are mainly used to make gorgeous fans while phoenix tears are rumored to bring the dead ack to life. Only one recording of revival by phoenix tears has been recorded in history (even the story is poorly recorded and unsure about the cause of revival), therefore phoenix tears revival capabilities are only speculated.
Pixie/Sprite /ˈpiksē/ /sprīt/
Known to normally stay close to the forest near their homes. Many other species also find them annoying because they are so carefree, and you know one or more are near by when you hear giggling.
Psyca /ˈseɪkə/
A three eyed cat-like creature with two tails that has the ability to one grant wish. They are often considered gods due to their wish granting ability and the abundance of magic they have. In fact, they are more powerful than most gods but because of their apathetic nature they are often considered “god-like”. They are immortal.
Known for only showing themselves to those who they think are worthy and desperately need them. However, they will not help those who are unredeemable for grave mistakes they have made and they do not display to favouritism or negative feelings towards any specific species (in other words they are mostly apathetic).
There is a “Mother Psyca” that has three tails instead of two and has the ability to grant as many wishes as she wants. Not many know of their existence so they’re mostly written off as a myth, even by many Maeyrfae folk. It is theorized that cats are Psycas that have already granted a wish.
Saeqwi /seəˈkwi/
Some Psyca may display favouritism or negative feelings towards specific people no matter what race they’re from (very rare cases). These Psyca are referred to as Saeqwi and are commonly looked down upon by Psycas. Psycas and Saeqwi consider themselves different species.
Ruin Golem /ˈro͞oin ˈɡōləm/
A being of made the relics it protects, tasked with protecting them at all costs. They have many round gems on their body called “eyes”. It has a mouth underneath its eye that it only uses when it deems it necessary (the enemy is stronger than it, there are a lot of enemies, needs more energy, etc.). Depending on what rules the creator has set, it will not attack certain people.
Selkie /ˈselkē/
A creature that can transform from human to sea animal (commonly seals) at will.
Serpent /ˈsərpənt/
A giant snake. They are descended from dragons. They come in many different shapes and live in various habitats. Known for being extremely aggressive to everything and everyone when agitated.
Siren /ˈsīrən/
Beautiful women or men with the power to enchant the opposite sex with their voice. Most sirens are women but there are few men. Sirens can change their tails into legs and vice versa at will. However, if they come into contact with sea water, their legs will immediately turn back into a tail. In siren culture, there is no such thing as love. A siren may lust for someone, but rarely ever will they feel love. Sirens will get together with other sirens (usually) and procreate but they don’t tend to stick together. Compared to mermaids, sirens have a more flowy, fabric-looking tail. Though from a distance, sometimes they can be mistaken for mermaids (to those who can’t tell the difference between siren and mermaid tails).
Sorcerer
A being with magical powers. This magic can take on many different forms, leading to a wide variety of visual styles of magic. Known for blending in with human society, most live as a normal human but some live secluded so their work goes undisturbed. Not all sorcerers have a human body, some sorcerers are more humanoid than actual human.
Sphinx /sfiNGks/
A creature with the head of a human and the body of a lion.
Star /stär/
An actual star that we know today; the personification of stars in outer space. Stars can change their form to blend in with any society. All stars have a four tipped star in between their collarbones when they take a human/humanoid form. There is a sort of “riddle” that others should say to confirm if someone is a Star or not. Stars and gods do not have a good relationship. In fact, they do not like each other. On the other hand, Councillors like stars, but stars also dislike councillors.
Sylph /silf/
An air spirit (can be male or female).
Tennin 天人 (てんいん)
A spiritual being found in Japanese Buddhism. They are similar to western angels, nymphs or fairies. They’re mainly female tennyo (tennyo in a female-only sub-group of tennin. It’s a yokai). They are immortal. Known for flying around in the sky dressed in beautiful kimonos.
Undine /ˈəndēn/
A water nymph.
Unicorn /ˈyo͞onəˌkôrn/
An elusive magical horse with a single horn adorning their head. They undying. They generally stay away from every species but will rarely stick around a specific person. Unicorns can only be tamed by a pure maiden.
Valkyrie /valˈkirē/ /ˈvalˌkirē/
A female who chooses who lives and dies on the battlefield. They are undying.
Vampire /ˈvamˌpī(ə)r/
Undying blood sucking persons that can’t be in the sun for too long or they start to burn. However they can be in the sun for a certain amount of time before they start to burn. It’s a myth that vampires are repelled by garlic and crosses. Ingesting garlic is almost like poison (make them sick or hurt them) but being around it doesn’t affect them. They can also cross over bodies of water and enter building without being invited. Vampires usually form clans. Clans help an individual survive.
Some vampires can develop a unique vampire skill that only they can use and doesn’t come with the same type of drawbacks as a regular vampire charm. These skills are nearly impossible to copy, but sort of knock off imitations can be made. Multiple vampires having the same skill is possible but extremely unlikely.
Pure
Born a vampire from two other born vampires. Do not possess reflections. Warm blooded and have a heartbeat. Can create turned vampires.
Impure
Born vampire from a born vampire and turned vampire. Do not possess reflections. Warm blooded and have a heartbeat. Can create turned vampires.
Halfling
Born half vampire from a any type of vampire and another species. May or may not possess reflections (depends on how much non-vampiric DNA they have). If the parent is warm blooded, then so will the child. Conversely, if they are cold blooded, then the child will be cold blooded (warm=heartbeat, cold=no heartbeat). May or may not be able to create turned vampires.
Turned
Born as another race but bitten with a special bite from a vampire. Do not possess reflections perse, instead a faint shadow is apparent. Cold blooded and have no heartbeat. Cannot create turned vampires.

Werewolf /ˈwerˌwo͝olf/
A human that can turn into a wolf at will or during a full moon. Many live an average human life span, however some are undying. Werewolves are not innately undying, they must gain it.
In packs of wolves there is always the pack leader/alpha male. Alpha males are able to secrete a poisonous venom from their fangs and claws. They can choose when to use this venom whenever they like. Alphas can also use a special ability in their eyes that allows them to see another’s heart and emotions. They can use this ability to determine if someone is lying or whatever else. A person’s emotions take form as a colour. Packs commonly also have an alpha female, but werewolf packs don’t necessarily need an alpha female. Alpha females have an increased sense of hearing and smell. Unlike alpha males, alpha females are born, not made/ “crowned”.
Witch/Warlock /wiCH/
A person that has magic powers, especially “evil ones”, popularly depicted as wearing a black cloak and pointed hat and flying on a broomstick. Commonly seen as evil but in reality, their behavior is not that different than human. Average life span of 150, and their appearance ages slower than the average human.
Normal Witches/Warlocks
Potion brewing, broom flying humans. Most need to use wands to control their magic but they do not have a limited amount of spells or potions.
Red Witches/Warlock (Reds)
Magic wielding witches/warlocks. Possess the ability to magically manipulate any object that they touch. They have either red hair, red eyes, or both. They do not need wands to control their magic but in some areas their magic is weaker, stronger or nonexistent. In some instances, they are mistaken for magicians.
Zheng //
A leopard looking creature with one long red horn protruding from its forehead and five tails. The Zheng made the sound of striking stones. Specialized in preying on man-eating beasts.
